Friendship Mini'D's Group
(Preschool Ages
2-6)
Children in our Mini'D's Group use the "Hands-On Bible
Curriculum." The curriculum consists of Bible stories that
are broken down into mini snippets so that children this age may
grasp their true meaning. Each week the children participate
in a game or activity that helps reiterate the story. The
teachers also incorporate music, snack, monthly Bible verses and, of
course, prayer into each weekly lesson. It is amazing what
children can do when they are given the opportunity to serve God!

Friendship Young Disciples
(2nd
- 5th Grade)
Friendship Young
Disciples offers biblically-based ministries for children 2nd to 5th grades. The Young Disciples use
the "Hands-On Bible Curriculum." Each week they are
introduced to a Bible story, memory verse, and a life application
lesson. In this group they each receive guidance for their
lives based upon God's Word. Teachers in this group focus on
being a team and really digging into what scripture means and how it
relates to them. This is achieved through games, art projects
and group discussions. All children are faced with decisions
and children in this group are learning the foundation of what every
person in our world should know - that Jesus is the way, the truth,
and the life.
A key component of Young
Disciples is our Sunday School program, which offers age appropriate
study for our children. Our desire is to form children as Disciples
and to give them the learning that will allow them to interact with
their families on their growing faith in Jesus.
During the school
year, we meet each Sunday night from 6 to 7:30 PM. Our Young
Disciples eat a light supper, and then share in Bible Study, crafts,
and music with well-trained volunteers who are passionate about
sharing the love of Jesus with your children.
Throughout the
year, the children participate in a variety of fun activities:
Vacation Bible School, a Christmas play, sharing their musical gifts
at Abernethy Laurels, going to the zoo, seeing the Christmas lights
at Tanglewood.
We warmly welcome
all children into our church, even if they and their families are
already members at other local churches. We believe our mission is
to support not only the children in our church, but the children in
the community.
Our Church offers
Safe Sanctuary for the adults who minister to our children and
youth. Safe Sanctuaries is a ministry program which requires
training and background checks for all of our volunteers.

Friendship United Methodist Youth Fellowship
(UMYF)
(6th
- 12th grades)
Our UMYF is
specifically designed to form disciples, 6th
- 12th grades.
Throughout the
year, 20-25 youth and adults gather each Sunday night from 6-8 PM
for Bible Study, Worship, Service, and Fellowship. We gather in our
spacious Family Life Center, and offer the youth a “safe place” to
grow spiritually, offering a light meal and weekly Bible Study.
Our youth attend
Conferences designed to help them grow spiritually. Conferences we
have attended in the last two years include Dare to Share, Choose
to Share Christ, Spiritus, and Strength
to Stand.
We warmly welcome
all youth into our fellowship, even if they and their families are
already members at other local churches. We believe our mission is
to support not only the youth in our church, but the youth in the
community.
Our Church offers
Safe Sanctuary for the volunteers who minister with our children and
youth. Safe Sanctuaries is a ministry program which requires
training and background checks for all of our volunteers.

Friendship United Methodist Men (UMM)
Friendship has a
strong unit of United Methodist Men, devoted to regular ministry,
fellowship, and support of missions. The Friendship UMM support a
variety of missions causes, and meet monthly for a devotion and
breakfast. Within the church, the men have supported benefits for
Hospice and Costa Rica Missions. The UMM have built ramps and done
light repairs for the elderly at Friendship and for others in need
in the community.
In addition, the
UMM minister to the church through events such as the Christmas and
Easter Breakfasts. In recent months, we have started a Bible Study
for Men to provide support, accountability, and guidance for men in
the life of the church. The United Methodist meet each month for
breakfast on the third Sunday of the month at 7:30 AM.

Friendship United Methodist Women (UMW)
The United
Methodist Women (UMW)
at Friendship are all about Missions:
locally, nationally, and internationally.
The Friendship UMW
were recognized in 2006 by the local United Way in
their “Giving From the Heart Awards” for their ongoing
support of the Family Guidance Center. The Family Guidance Center
is “A place to turn for personal, child, teen, marital, family and
debt problems.” The Family Guidance Center provides
Individual and Family Counseling, First Step 24 Hour Domestic
Violence Services and Shelter for victims.”
In addition, the
UMW sponsors many activities that minister to the church and
community, including an annual fashion show for missions. The UMW
meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM for a light supper
and a ministry program.
